Tips for Capturing Picture Perfect Graduation Shots - 2020 Style!
Your school years are filled with so many milestones and are years that you will never get back again. As a parent, you want to capture every single one of your child’s achievements, from kindergarten right through to college. A graduation is especially important as it signifies a new stage in your child’s life.
So... I originally planned this email with a "normal" graduation in mind. Given our current circumstances with COVID-19, I canned my previously planned photo tips and opted to come up with some creative ways to celebrate your high school graduate! Below are a few tips and ideas to help you capture the best possible graduation photos, photos that you can look back on with admiration years from now.
Organize a Photo Session
Get together with friends to hire a professional photographer and organize a socially distant photo session for graduates in their caps and gowns. If your school district is not providing the graduation gear, you can order it online or be creative and make your own!
Photo Ideas
Grab some photos of them in their cap and gown and in their graduation outfit too. You can also take some close ups of the outfit, gown, and hat on their own. Take a photo of the traditional toss of the cap in the air. Photograph your graduate in a T-shirt or other items representing the school they are heading off to in the fall. Go to some of their favorite hangout spots and take a few images. They'll be able to look back on and remember the fun times they shared with friends!
Experiment with Angles and Your Zoom
Aim to take a variety of different photos on the day by experimenting with your camera’s zoom and various angles ahead of time.
Circulate a Graduation Announcement
While a party is out of the question, now’s a good time to remind family and friends that your child graduated, in case they want to send a card or gift to mark the occasion. If you don't feel confident designing an announcement, give us a call. We'd be happy to create a unique graduation announcement for you!
School and college is such an integral part of everyone’s life, which is why it’s so important to make the extra effort to capture these moments and milestones, whether it’s for yourself or your own child. And while this graduation season looks a little different this year, you can still seize the day and create some awesome memories!
